International Projects

Our language school has a proven track record of participating in several EU Transnational Cooperation and NORDPLUS initiatives:

*Euro Languages Net // Euro Languages Net Plus (SOCRATES/LINGUA1) - these projects are meant to encourage the general public to learn the less widely used European languages, as well as provide information about new and already existing best practices and opportunities to learn them.

*Linguapeace Europe - LEONARDO DA VINCI project: Developing multilingual terminology and training resources for peacekeeping missions in 11 languages, including Estonian.

eEuroInclusion - European Commission project: Developing a pan-European network of Language Resource Centres for LWULT languages.

*Languages on your Screen - SOCRATES/LINGUA1 project designed to raise awareness of Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian, and to promote learning these languages as a way of encouraging European tourists to visit the Baltic countries.

*DissMark II is a Socrates Accompanying Measures project aiming to address the issue of insufficient dissemination and marketing skills within teams involved in(Socrates) educational projects via organising an international Dissemination, Marketing and Networking Conference and Fair for project coordinators and partners from different Socrates Actions (Comenius, Erasmus, Grundtvig, Lingua, etc).

*TOOL2 - TOOL for Online and Offline Language Learning - SOCRATES / LINGUA2 project focused on developing combined A2-level language courses in Estonian, Hungarian, Maltese, Slovenian, and Dutch.

*Don't Give Up (SOCRATES/LINGUA1) - the objective of this project is to find ways how to motivate adult language learners to complete their courses (and not give up ... ).

*NORDPLUS Horizontal programme project 'Language on the Move' aims to provide cultural information and basic survival phrases for people traveling on public transport to /within Nordic or Baltic countries. Knowing the basics of the language and culture of the country concerned can make people's life easier, increase mobility, and help to integrate into the local community. 

*PRIMALINGUA - an educational project, part of the EU LLP programme, whereby primary school children work on multimedia-based, interactive learning units.

*NORDPLUS Adult programme project 'Still Active' aimed to provide senior citizens from vulnerable groups with a communication tool - the English Language - to encourage them to continue being part of the changing world, and thus improve quality of their life.

*NORDPLUS Adult programme project 'Nordic-Baltic Cafe Lingua' that aimed to promote informal language education through language cafés across the Nordic and Baltic region.

*NORDPLUS Adult programme project 'Seniors On-Line' that focuses on ICT and English language learning for active ageing. The project aims to strengthen English language and ICT skills of the seniors from Nordic and Baltic countries in order to help them overcome the challenges arising from the fairs of cultivating these skills in practice, foster communication between different cultures as well as create a solid background for seniors to apply newly gained competences in their everyday lives after the end of the project. *ERASMUS+ programme project 'ICT Based Methods for Teaching Less Widely Used Languages' (ICT4LWUL) aimed to enhance the use of ICT in language teaching. The focus was on 3 different types of ICT-based methods: e-learning, web platforms & social media and using mobile and smartphone devices in teaching. Languages schools and universities from 6 different countries - Romania (Bridge Language Study House, Cluj-Napoca), Poland (Studium Jezykow Obcych, Lodz), Estonia (Tallinn Language Centre), Italy (Europass Centro Studi Europeo, Florence), Hungary (Debrecen Summer School) and Check Republic (ITC International Training Center, Prague) - took part in the project.

The partnership pursued the following objectives: Increasing the knowledge about 3 different types of ICT based methods within the partnership during the lifetime of the project; empowering the partner language schools and teachers to be able to adapt and integrate the transferred ICT based methods for teaching the target LWUL as a foreign language; improving the knowledge of min. 120 language teachers from outside the partnership by the creation and dissemination of a Handbook containing at least 90 LWUL teaching exercises.

50+

"Sharing Best Practices in Teaching English for 50+" is an *ERASMUS+ programme/Action 2 project that aims to give teachers of English for 50+ age group an improved understanding of their students’ needs and equip them with a set of tips & guidelines. Language schools from 3 different countries - Poland, Romania and Estonia - participate in the project and exchanged their experience in teaching English to senior learners.
